Irish Set Dance

Jill and Mark play for Irish Set Dance Workshops and Ceilidh as a duo, or a trio with our guitarist Dave or keyboard player Steve or Steph.

On the first Monday of every month we play for the Irish Set Dancing at The Beehive, 112 Wellington Hill West, Bristol, BS9 4QY from 8pm. – no calling just come along and enjoy dancing the well known dance sets.

The second and fourth Mondays every month we organise a set dance evening at the Star in Wotton under Edge, GL12 7AE with the help of very experienced guest callers – Sharon Carr, Val Knight, and Maggie Daniel, all of whom run their own set dance clubs. Beginners are welcome to watch and learn and join in with some less complicated figures.

We also meet on the 2nd Sunday of the month (not during the summer) to play for Sue Costello’s Set Dance Club aimed at beginners and improvers that meets once a month at the Chipping Hall in Wotton Under Edge. There is an informal dance and lunch from 12 noon at the Star before the ceili at 2.30pm when all dances are done with calling. (Sue teaches beginners basics at 2pm)

This Band has a fantastic range of tunes and dances to offer from foot tapping reels and polkas to relaxing waltzes. The trio play in a traditional Irish manner on fiddle, box and guitar. I can fully recommend them for your special occasion.  It will definitely be a success.

All the dancers have been very impressed with the standard of their playing and the enthusiasm which comes across as they play. Very danceable and a great variety of lovely tunes! A very professional band to deal with – extremely reliable and great quality.

The Perfect Cure have been playing for our monthly Irish Set Dancing in Wotton under Edge for several years.  Not only are they reliable and good humoured, but their spirited playing leaves the dancers breathless and elated.  They make a wonderful contribution to the success of our events.

The Irish Set Dancers love dancing to The Perfect Cure. They play great tunes, at the perfect tempo, with an authentic Irish feel, and they make a great atmosphere in the hall. Also, the band are always helpful with the arrangements for events, and very willing to oblige with any requests.
